There’s a moment in every yoga practice when you find yourself somewhere completely unexpected: twisting into a shape you didn’t think was possible, attempting a handstand just to see what happens, or catching yourself mid-flow holding your breath, realizing just how much you're still learning to let go.
For me, yoga has never been about chasing perfection. It’s been about discovery. The first time I tried crow pose, I didn’t lift off. I tumbled face-first- onto my mat. But I didn’t walk away defeated. I was intrigued. What if I shift my weight just a bit? What if I tried again the next day? That what if is part of what’s kept me returning to the mat for nearly five decades.
My yoga journey started when I was 12, with a book by Richard Hittleman - “Richard Hittleman’s YOGA 28-day Exercise Plan”, given to me by my dad and that still lives on my bookshelf. But yoga didn’t become a consistent part of my life until much later.
